Tiffany Rodriguez | Mentoring Session | Virginia Beach

How can one compare to this young beauty? The truth is… You just can’t!

A few weeks back I had the pleasure of watching this sweet young lady finish up a session with a family on the beach. I was in such awe watching her. I thought, “She looks so young. Her Mama must be so proud!”

I was down at the same beach that day starting my very session with a local Model. And as I was waiting for my Model to finish changing I took a moment to introduce myself to this young lady. I had learned that her name was Tiffany and she was only 16 years old. She was growing her very own photography business at such a young age. There was just something about her that I couldn’t stop thinking about. Such a sweet and bright smile and her love of photography. So I had made sure to exchange names with her. I made sure to introduce myself to her sweet Mom. And offered her any information at the time I could about the local photographers in the area. We said our good-byes and parted ways.

A few days later I found myself messaging Tiffany and invited her out to a ‘Couples Session’ I would be doing later that week. I can’t tell you how excited I was that she wanted to tag along and learn all she could.

The day had come and she walked up with her bubbly bight smile and was so excited to learn all she could that evening.

While I was working with my clients I made sure to chat with her along the way… Show her what I do, how I pose, how I get my clients to smile and giggle naturally, teaching her settings on her camera, how to play with the light and her clients, and answering her questions while we worked together.

It was such a joy to watch Tiffany soak it all up! How she was smiling and full of life as she too was capturing moments in the day.

As my couples session had come to a close… I made sure to answer any questions Tiffany may have had along the way. Making sure to give her suggestions, tips, and ways to better capture those she will be working with in the future.

And after we were all done… We made sure to capture this sweet young soul with her very own camera. Giving her some simple and updated head shots for her page and websites.

AND OH MY WORD! If the camera didn’t just love her. We were blessed with a golden hour! The sun was just pouring golden light all over the beach. And she looked so beautiful!

I just love when I find young photographer eager to learn and grow in their love of photography as well. And to watch Tiffany being one of the ones I was so lucky to mentor (and still mentor) is such a joy to my heart.

I can’t wait to watch Tiffany grow and grow over this year to come. And I really can’t wait till I get the chance to capture her again… And work side-by-side with her one day.

This sweet young soul is going places! So look out Hampton Roads… A *NEW* and young photographer is on the scene and she will be capturing many families and loved ones along the way.

Thank you so much Tiffany for coming out and learning so much with me. It was a pleasure to work with you. And to be able to meet your family as well !!!  ❤

Of course I always capture a few while those I mentor are learning…  After all it’s always fun to see those images as the client.  🙂
