Happy Birthday Emma! | Pretty In Pink + Glitter | Virginia Photographer

One of the sweetest of little gems she is… The moment her Mommy & Daddy placed her in her birthday outfit Emma made sure the world knew it was her day. Full of life and giggles. Walking around and showing off that sweet tutu her Mama had made just for her.

Emma’s day was full of style, cuteness, but most of all family and love.

Emma’s Mama made everything for her party… Showing off her style and the sweet little girl she was. Pretty in pink and full of glitter.

Each time the door bell rang Emma was sure to be there greeting her guest with a smile as bright as the sun and giggles that you couldn’t help but laugh with her on. Each little guest that walked through the door was just as full of life and love. Each showing their own style and energy.

It was a party full of cute little guest that made sure to share in the happiest of 1st birthdays for their friend.

I have to admit I was so in love with Emma and her family… Each one of them held their little one year old birthday girl with such love. Mama and Dada were the proudest of parents sharing and celebrating in their babies first year of life together.

As a Mom myself I know those memories that come flooding back when my babies turn another year older. You can never forget those memories no matter how hard you try. And I am sure that Emma’s Mama and Dada had those same feeling and thoughts. Watching how friends and family celebrated with them and their little love.

It was truly the sweetest and most adorable birthday!

Thank you so much Emma for inviting me to your special day and for sharing such bright smiles and giggles with me. I can’t wit till we meet again and capture more memories together for your Mama and Dada, ❤

CONGRATULATIONS Krystal Trager | Rodan + Fields | The Winery at Bull Run

When you gather at a place full of ladies (and a few gentlemen) who are full of life and giggles. As they are all there ready to celebrate Krystal and her earning her Lexus from the AMAZING company Rodan + Fields.

You see this is my 2nd time shooting an event like this… And it never fails to be full of love. These ladies come together to encourage one another. Each ready to share in their stories of a company that has done so much for so many.

I can personally tell you that now I am one of those Ladies. As I have now been learning about how truly AMAZING Rodan + Fields is. And now to be there as these ladies embrace one another and celebrate Krystal and all the hard work she has placed over these months to earn her Lexus was a treasure to watch & capture.

Krystal couldn’t have chosen a more beautiful place. A winery that embraces love, life, and family. This say was not only full of sunshine, wine, love, and joy… But was also full of grace. YES! GRACE!

Not one of these ladies acted as if they did it all themselves. They showed how together they work, that together they help each other reach their goals, that together they would celebrate Krystal and her family.

This may seem silly to many as they ready this. Silly how women could come together and praise & embrace each other in earning a Lexus. But it’s such truth! And an honor to be apart of.

I can’t wait till one of these ladies from this group earn their *NEW* Lexus as well !!! Because like the last time, and this time, I am sure I will see many of these beautiful faces again as they celebrate the next young lady and her accomplishments.

THANK YOU Krystal for letting me be apart of such a stunning day! You truly are loved by so many… And it showed brightly on this day for you.

Krystal is such a beauty, strong, loyal, and full of joy. An honor to be able to capture this party of her life and to be able to tell her story. ❤

CONGRATS KRYSTAL !!!

Breastfeeding Awareness Month | PART 4 | Teenae + Alana | Shore Drive

Today we are ending the month of August with a BANG! Another powerful Mama and her little girl show the world age is only a number.

Teenae & Alana had so much spunk it killed me! I was so overjoyed to capture this Mommy & Daughter team as they documented their very own nursing story.

This is the BLOG for all those people, Mamas, and fools who think that breastfeeding stops at one age of each child. And here Teenae teaches us that is NOT the case.

Thank you so much Teenae for your bravery and showing the world what Breastfeeding Awareness Month is truly ALL ABOUT!

***QUESTIONS***

Name: Teenae Andrea Jacobson

Age: 30

Job: Stay At Home Mommy + Childcare Provider

How Many Children Do You Have: I have 6 kids stepdaughter age 21, stepson 14, son age 9, twin sons age 5 and daughter age 22 months

What Do You LOVE Most About Nursing: What I love most about nursing is the close relationship I have with my daughter.

I have nursed all of my children since birth. All of my boys took bottles and I pumped because I went to work after 6 weeks. But with baby girl we decided it was better if I stayed home with the kids. We were living in Burlington, IA at the time so the jobs were kinda slim anyway.

She wouldn’t take a bottle so I pumped to empty my breast from engorgement for 6 months and stored the milk in the freezer. After 6 months I stopped pumping and just let her eat as often as she was hungry. 6 months then turned into a year and a year turned into 18 months. And here we are 22 months later and we are still at it!!!

With the boys they nursed until 8 months old and weaned themselves off. I do not see Alana weaning herself off anytime soon.

What Do You HATE The Most About It: I don’t think their is anything I hate about nursing… But I do hate when people ask when will I stop nursing my daughter. Like their is suppose to be a timeline to nursing your child, UGH! So darn annoying! Whenever she is sick, tired, cranky, or uncomfortable it always soothes her. I’ve even nursed during vaccinations.

What Is Your Worst Interacting During This Breastfeeding Adventure: Nursing in public people always stare as if I am doing something wrong and unnatural. But I don’t care at all! If my daughter is hungry I’m going to feed her! This is my last child so I will be sad when this journey ends for us both. But will always treasure this experience I’ve shared with her!

Breastfeeding Awareness Month | PART 3 | Nicole + Preslie | Shore Drive

Today we share another story… A story of Nicole and Preslie… How a Mom shows us you can push back fears and the world to be able to have the sweetest bond with your little ones, as you both venture in to the world of Breastfeeding together. Showing us fears can hold us back from what we want.

Nicole was so cute dressed up with her little Preslie… Both showing a style of their own and all the cuteness in the world during their session together.

But of course Preslie wasn’t shy to stop her nursing to look back at me like, “WHAT DO YOU WANT!?” lol. It was the funniest thing ever. She was also GREAT at showing us ‘Baby Yoga Nursing’ as she would place her little toes in her Mommies face while nursing. NOW THAT IS PRICELESS, lol.

We also made sure to ask Nicole a few questions as well… And she shared with us her fears and regrets. So to all our soon-to-be nursing Mamas this is this Blog for you! ❤
***QUESTIONS***

Name: Nicole Hart
Age: 36
How Many Children Do You Have: Two kids. 6 year old (thinks she is 16) Kylie. 9 month old Preslie.

ANYTHING YOU WOULD LIKE TO SHARE WITH US?

I didn’t breastfeed with Kylie, I thought of every excuse not to. Then I looked at the benefits, the real story, lol. But she turned out just fine. No allergies. Ect. The only real part that bothers me is the bonding experience. I wish I had at least tried. ❤

With Preslie. About half way into the pregnancy I decided I would give it a go. My husband was on board for whatever I felt comfortable with doing. I thought to myself challenge accepted! I can do this! We can do this! The first two weeks were rough!! But so much fun. I laughed more than I cried. After that it’s been easy. She is a trip! I love the little smiles. The milk drunk. When your milk decides it’s coming whether you are ready or not.

I told myself, “I’ll try until 3 months, 6 months, and so on. I’m pretty sure I will make it a year.” I’m very proud of myself. My Husband was a huge help. Especially in the beginning. He had no problem helping out!

I haven’t had to many bad experiences. I plan around. But will feed her if I need to. I’m not a fan of pumping. I do it because I have to. I thought in the beginning that’s all I would do, nope! It’s annoying.

Breastfeeding Awareness Month | PART 2 | Michelle + Noemi | Shore Drive

Today we share Michelle and her little gem Noemi on part of their Breastfeeding adventure. I just love how Michelle came to this session full of smiles and ready to document this part of her life with her Daughter. So many Mommies set up their sessions and never show up for fear of what the world will think. But Michelle just pushed though and is helping to teach many others in her life just how amazing this gift is. Which I admire with all my heart.

And of course their matching outfits just set this session over the top! They weren’t only cute… They were the most sweetest to capture.

I made sure to ask just a few questions to better help any other Mommies who might be seeing this Blog today… To show what we Mommies face when we are out in the world feeding our babies.

I hope you all enjoy!

And to any Mommies out there today reading this… Fearing the world, wondering if you can keep going, maybe you don’t have the home support you need. No matter what your reasons or thoughts are. I hope this gives you a little more strength. ❤

***QUESTIONS***

Name: Michelle Sarmiento

Age: 31

Job: Labor and delivery RN

How Many Children Do You Have: 2

How Long Have You Been Nursing: 8 months

What Do You LOVE The Most About Nursing: Mommy and baby bond

What Do You HATE The Most About It: It can be painful and is a lot of work

What Is Your Worst Interacting During This Breastfeeding Adventure: Finding a fairly clean place to sit and comfortably feed my baby.

ANYTHING ELSE YOU WOULD LIKE TO SHARE: As a Labor and Delivery Nurse, I try to educate and promote the importance of breastfeeding to new and experienced mommies. Breastfeeding has proven to be beneficial in all aspects of growth for a growing baby time and time again. It is easier for baby to digest, increases IQ, provides baby with stronger immunity, decreases allergies, acts as medicine for sick baby, and the list goes on. In turn, is it also beneficial for mom. It aides with weight loss, decreases risk for cancer, and post-partum depression to name a few. It is highly recommended by pediatricians because of the benefits it provides for little ones, so why is there a stigma of breastfeeding in public? If anything, mothers who breastfeed their children should be congratulated and recognized for a job well done, for having the patience, dedication, and courage to continue or attempted to breastfeed their children. It’s been done for centuries and is the REAL PURPOSE of breasts. People need to learn to get their minds out of the gutter.

The Beauty Is In The Eye Of The Beholder…  | PART 1  |  Breastfeeding Awareness Month  | Shore Drive

We have heard it all, we have seen the looks of disgust, and have even been told it isn’t easy. Well the truth is… IT’S TRUE! We have heard everyone tell us their views, we get those looks every day when we are out in the world feeding our babies just as you do yours, and what’s even stranger is we KNOW IT IS NOT EASY! But we fight through! Because we know what is best for our bodies and our babies.

Today you will see just a few sneak peeks of these 3 differently unique women. And in the next few days you will see more of them, their very own story, with their own images. Each different in nationality, age, children, and thoughts.

You see breastfeeding isn’t gross, rude, wrong, or just for one kind of Mom. It is beautiful, brave, just, and we encourage all women of all ages and groups to join this adventure too.
